masterclass with Barbara Canepa and announcement of the winners of the ShorTS Comics Marathon

Barbara Canepa, a juror for the ShorTS Comics Marathon 2024, will meet with the Trieste public on Thursday, 4 July at 18:00 during the ShorTS Comics Day.

The renowned author of W.i.t.c.h., Monster Allergy, Sky Doll, and the brand new Au chant des grenouilles will talk to us about her work and the world of comics, in which she plays a leading role in various fields: from colorist to illustrator, from screenwriter to editor. Between a masterclass and a carte blanche, she will reveal tricks and secrets about the ninth art.

At the end of the meeting, the marathon returns to Trieste for its grand finale. Judges Barbara Canepa and Luca Luisa will announce the ranking of the selected works that will be included in the printed publication and will award the winner of the 2024 edition.

The Sala Xenia will also host, throughout the festival, a display of 40 panels from the 57 comics produced during this year’s marathon. An exhibition that reinterprets great cinema classics through the lens of comics.
