BIKE SHARING

With bike sharing, visiting Trieste by bicycle has become even easier. There are nearly 20 stations where you can borrow a bike and drop it off at another point in the city. Most of the stations are located in central areas and at strategic points.

BiTS is the fixed-station bike sharing service of the Municipality of Trieste. You can pick up a bicycle at one point in the city and return it to another.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Access the Weelo app: Check the map of bike stations in the area and see the availability of bicycles in real-time, or, if you need to return a bike, check for available slots.
To start the rental: When you are at a bike station, select the corresponding dock for the bike you want to borrow on the app. The dock will first emit slow beeps and then faster beeps: take the bike when you hear the faster beeps.
To return the bike: Insert the bike into one of the available docks and wait for three confirmation beeps. At the end of the rental, make sure the bike is securely and correctly anchored to the dock.

WHERE TO TAKE AND RETURN THE BIKE
The service is available throughout the Municipality of Trieste, and it is not allowed to park outside the designated stations. There are no time restrictions: it is active 24/7.
